Editing

User Workflow

First time users

Typical Work flow

• Layers in layer view should be dragged to change layer zorder
• Always provide instant feedback. At least mouse cursor change. Including for wizards. IE WMS wizard
• default project should not be shown
• Items with only one subitem should not be collapsible and shouldn't show up.
• import shapefile wizard should provide a file browser as part of its first page.
• browsers and wizard should remember last settings
• A history for wizards should be provided (recent files like in ms word)
• Add new Map/Layers wizards should have a add/find layer which can add a new entry to the registry
• Make all the tool tip tenses the same, preferably active tenses
• Shapefile wizard has bad title
• Import wizards should be based on File or URL rather than Shapefile, WFS or WMS.
  • The File import should go straight to a file browser
• Shapefile custom properties - contains a checkbox which, if set, goes to a custom properties page
