RC6 is here to try out. It has a couple of outstanding bugs:

1. Projection button always modifies the first editor to open.

Since these are release candidates the JREs are not included. If you have previously installed udig you should copy the jre folder from the other installation into the new folder.

If you are working on windows you can just unzip eclipse_jre.zip and copy the jre directory into your udig folder.
