- Download a Java Runtime and required extentions
J2SE v 5.0 JRE, Advanced Imaging v 1.1.2 & Imaging IO v 1.0_01 RC
(Make sure you select Custom installation and not Complete or Typical!)
J2SE v 5.0 JRE, Advanced Imaging v 1.1.2 & Imaging IO v 1.0.01 RC 
SDK 1.4.2, Java 3D and Advanced Imaging Update & Imaging IO v 1.0.01 RC - Download the 3.1 M2 "RCP Runtime Binary" suitable for your platform
Windows 98/ME/2000/XP
Linux (x86/GTK 2)
Max OSX (Max/Carbon) - not well tested with UDIG - Unzip the RCP Runtime Binary where you would like to install UDIG 0.4
- Download UDIG 0.4 it and unzip it overtop of your Eclipse RCP Runtime Binary folder
- Run eclipse and enjoy
