Thinking about the design from the perspective of rendering tends to focus on data flow, and event notificaiton. More subtle is reverse direction encountered during selection, and tooltip generation.

Use Cases

  • User displays WFS and WMS content on the screen
  • User zooms and pans with immediate feedback, and sub 5 second response.
  • User selects a bounding box
  • User hovers over a feature and gets a tooltip
  • Plug-In changes a feature and screen is updated
  • User in a different LayerManger hits commit
