Release General Testing procedure

Install the Latest udig

  1. copy the short cut and create an extra one with:
    -nl fr

Launch Application (English)

  1. Click on the tutorial
  2. Open about About
  • splash screen?
  • welcome screen? Link to online help?
  • about version?

Launch Application (French) (aka shortcut with "-nl fr")

  1. Click on the tutorial
  2. Open about About
splash screen?
welcome screen? Link to online help?
about version? and language.

Construct a map using File menu with:

1 OrthoServer dnd drag me
2 Shapefile add layer wizard bc_elections_2000.shp
3 Shapefile dnd bc_parks_2001.shp

Checklist:

creation of Map with file menu
check that Map1 is the title of the newly created map
check that the ui does not block
check for feedback during add process

Reproject:
(the above map.. (Right click on Map) in Projects view)

  1. 4269 (the default)
  2. 3005 (BC Albers)
  3. 4269

Checklist:

WMS reprojection works

Search:

  1. Create a New Map using the Map button)
  2. Switch to search tab and Search for 'bird'
  3. Drag and drag 'Canadian Important Birds' onto the screen from the WMS
    (this is a GGDI search)
  4. Search for 'radar' and right click add 'Radarsat_1000' to the
    current Map
    (this is a google search)
  5. Search for 'landsat' and right click add 'Landsat 7 Orthorectified Imagery over Canada - band 743' to the current map
    (google again)
  6. Search for "wms" and click cancel in the local toolbar
check blocking behavior during search
  check for blocking behaviour during add
  check information reported as search results are selected
check for run away search process

Open Source GIS workflow:

  1. Switch to Catalog view and close all maps
  2. Use file new layer to get the the the PostGIS wizard
    host www.refractions.net
    port 5432
    username postgres
    password postgres
    database demo-bc
    schema public
  3. Select bc_municipality (will show up unfilled)
  4. Edit and rollback
    • choose the the select tool, click on a polygon
    • choose the edit tool
    • click near the polygon to add a new point
    • hit rollback (confirm that the edits are removed)
  5. Edit and commit
    • create a feature and commit
    • hit commit, map refresh and change will show up in the WMS
  6. delete feature
    • select your new polygon and delete it

Info Tool:

  1. Open up Map1
  2. Use info tool on WMS iba layer
  3. Test again included shapefiles

Included Data:

  1. Open up the included shapefiles
  2. Reproject to 3005 (out of range but what the heck)

Shapefile from internet:

  1. Open new Map
  2. Drag and drop lakes onto the map.
