JGrass	UDig	notes
workspace, location	catalog, project	a JGrass workspace structure contains the projection info, headers, as well as all the visible maps, colortable per map, compression info, etc.
session	map	all layers of a JGrass session are bound to a particular projection, a resolution and active processing region
map gmap	layer umap	a JGrass map is a dataset that can be used as its values for analyses or for rendering
proj for projection stuff	geotools for projection stuff
internal raster format = GRASS binary	no internal format
model, application	operation	what in JGRASS are called commands or models or applications, in UDig seem to find their best mapping in what is called operation, even if some of them need mouse interaction and therefore require tools.
console	don't have the concept of a console
