The following tips and tricks give some helpful ideas and short cuts for working with uDig.

Catalog

Drag to the Layer view	Rather than choosing Add to Current Map pick up a resource and drag it onto the Layer view in the exact location you need.
Having trouble finding something?	Switch to the Search view and use the text field to quickly find resources.

Help

Context Sensitive Help	Press F1 to open up help on the view or dialog you are using
Show in external window	Having trouble reading a topic in the Help view? Press the Show in external window button to open a full help window.
