These steps are used to generate an Export of the uDig application. This is usually performed from a branch as part of Making a Formal Release.

This page will eventually describe the process of creating an SDK for uDig.

  1. Open the udig.product
  2. Check that the application runs: 10 Running the Main Application
    • The important part here is the steps for removing and adding rcp and rcp.nls from the product configuration
  3. Click the Eclipse Product export wizard link in the Export section
  4. change the Root Directory to udig
  5. Ensure that Synchronize before exporting IS checked
  6. Enter a directory or archive file.
    • The standard format for archive files are: udig-X.X.X-X.zip
    • For example: C:\udig-1.1-RC14.zip
  7. Please make sure Export for multiple platforms is checked
  8. Click the Next button
  9. Select the following available platforms:
    • linux (gtk/x86)
    • linux (gtk/x86_64)
    • macosx (carbon/ppc)
    • macosx (carbon/x86)
    • win32( win32/x84)
  10. Press Finish
This takes a long time ....
